This week on Tuesday, May 23, we will have our Blue/White awards ceremony beginning at 5:30 pm in the gym. Invitations have been given to the students.
On May 26, we will have the Science EOG (end of grade assessment)
Future dates:
Monday May 29, is a holiday.
Tuesday May 30 is the Math EOG assessment.
Wednesday May 31 is the ELA EOG assessment
We are not allowed to check out students during testing.
On test days, we cannot move students until all assessments are done.
We ask that no one line up to pick up students before 2 pm.
We will let students know when pickup can begin.

This is Dr. Jones sharing some important information.
We are excited to share that this upcoming week is spirit week beginning with Monday, twin day, Tuesday, Tacky tourist, Wednesday, team day, Thursday, blue/white day, and Friday, Jeans (no rips/holes).
On Thursday, we have a staff/student basketball game fundraiser:

Parents, there was an incident on Thursday in which we deemed it necessary to call the EMS. As a follow up, our students are safe and well.
As we end the school year, please be reminded that students must pass the classes, have at least 90% attendance, and pass the EOG.
We have 9 school days left. The Science EOG is on May 26, the math is on May 30, and the reading is on May 31. Remember, good behavior matters.

Padres, el jueves hubo una incidencia en la que consideramos necesario llamar al SEM. Como seguimiento, nuestros estudiantes están seguros y bien.
Al finalizar el año escolar, recuerde que los estudiantes deben aprobar las clases, tener al menos un 90% de asistencia y aprobar el EOG.
Nos quedan 9 días de clase. El EOG de ciencias es el 26 de mayo, el de matemáticas es el 30 de mayo y el de lectura es el 31 de mayo. Recuerde, el buen comportamiento es importante.

Hello parents and students,
This is Dr. Jones sharing the weekly message.
This week we have several events taking place.
First, our cross country tryouts will begin tomorrow after school with Coach Jones. Students must have a physical.
Baseball/Softball/Soccer tryouts are underway.
Next, our STEM night for parents will be Thursday beginning at 6 pm in the gym. The STEAM/STEM teams will have demonstrations.
Friday is a PBIS Jeans day for students. The 1$ donation goes toward student rewards. No holes in jeans.
From the staff at SNMS, we want to thank Sheriff Keith Stone, the deputies, Dr. Ellis, and the Nash County Emergency Management team for their quick response and assistance on Friday.
Please be assured that our number one priority is student safety.

Monday is Jingle toes. Wear your favorite holiday socks (uniforms are required). Tuesday is holiday spirit (wear red, green, white, gold) Uniform optional-no holes in pants. This is Dr. Jones sharing this week's information for parents and students.
Thank you to everyone who attended the winter concert. We had a stellar performance and the community support was evident.
Congratulations to our girls basketball team for their win against Edwards Middle School.
This upcoming week the girls and boys basketball team will have a home game on Monday, December 12 at 4 pm. Also, the basketball teams will play away games on Wednesday at Bunn and Thursday at Red Oak Middle.
On Thursday, we have a home wrestling match against Red Oak Middle which begins at 4 pm.
Last week, students took the mid-year exact path diagnostic. The platform determines skill level needs and assigns lessons based on individual needs. Please continue to encourage your child to work on exact path to build their reading and math skills.
Please mark your calendar for December 21 and 22. Those are two hour early release days. The winter break for students begins on December 23 and ends January 6th. Students return on January 9, 2023.

This past Thursday our boys and girls basketball teams won their games. Congratulations!
This upcoming week our teams will have away games. Monday, December 5, we will play Parker Middle School at Parker. Wednesday, the teams will play at Forest Hills Middle school. On Thursday December 8, our teams will play at Edwards Middle School.
This upcoming week our wrestling team will hold a home match on Monday against Parker and on Thursday, the team will hold a home match against Edwards.

This Tuesday, December 6th, we will have our Winter Concert in the gym beginning at 6 pm.

Good afternoon parents and students,
This is Dr. Jones sharing some important information for this upcoming week.
We hope you all have enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday and long weekend.
This week students return and we want to share that most buses will be on time. We appreciate your patience with bus transportation.
This week is a great time to review your child's grades and ensure they are making up any missed work. Students are expected to work on exact path to increase their reading and math skills. Please reach out to the teacher if you have questions about grades and missing work.
Coach Monts shared that on Thursday this week, we have our first home basketball game. Please come out the support our athletes during this time. The game will begin at 4 pm.
Our ESL teachers, Mr. Solano and Mr. Sarmiento and our guidance lead, Ms. Kline, send a Thank you to our families that attended the ESL curriculum night session.
We appreciate your continued support as we strive to reach at least 55% proficiency and earn a C on our school report card. It will take everyone to work together to achieve this.

Good afternoon parents, This is Dr. Jones sharing information about the upcoming week. Monday and Tuesday are regular school days. Wednesday, November 23rd, through Friday, November 25th, are holidays. There is no school on those days. On Tuesday evening, beginning at 5 pm, there will be a curriculum meeting for multi-lingual parents in the cafteria. Students are focusing on the intervention/enrichment days thus far. Tuesday, the focus is on math and Thursdays during that time, students focus on ELA.
Progress reports will be available on November 16th online.
Coach Monts will have our winter sports schedules out soon. Please be on the lookout for those.
Our new school improvement plan is posted. To view our school's improvement plan, visit the school website. Click on about us (top left hand corner) and select "School Improvement Plan" from the dropdown. For the next 30 days, we will be accepting feedback on the district plan and our school improvement plan. If you want to comment, log onto the district website…. n-c-p schools- dot-net and click on the main graphic that says “Strategic Plan”. You can also find it under the “About Us” menu on the left hand side. After clicking there, select Strategic Plan.
Please check with your student and review their grades.
Recall, students who are not meeting grade requirements are receiving targeted interventions.

Hello Cobra families, This is Dr. Jones sharing some important information about the upcoming week. Please listen and/or read this entire message. Thank you to our students and parents for ensuring the benchmark testing last week was successful. We have a few makeup tests to complete and the testing window closes this Friday. Next, the "week of giving" ends this Friday with the Penny wars. Grade levels are competing for a pizza party and the donations go to the local united way charity. Monday-Book Fair opens in the media center Tuesday-The cultural arts festival begins with a band performance at 6 pm in the gym. Student art will be on display and treats will be given out afterwards. The book fair will be open from 4-6 pm. Wednesday-wear orange to support national stop bullying day. Good afternoon, This is Mrs. Jones sharing some additional information. There will be a new tool we are rolling out related to your student’s computer. Teachers will be using Lightspeed Classroom Management which lets them manage their student's computer use during class time. Teachers can see your child’s computer screen and block or close inappropriate web pages. This tool is only for on campus use. Teachers cannot control your child’s computer from home.
