Just a reminder that tomorrow, Tuesday, February 25 is our Spring Pictures and Class Pictures. Please note that if you wish to purchase a Class Picture, you must send $10 with the order form for tomorrow. Students that are taking Spring Pictures - a proof will come to the school for us to send home. You will order once the proofs come back. If you have any questions, please contact us at the school.

EES had some wonderful visitors during lunch today! We would like to thank Rocky Mount Police Department for joining us today. The students were so excited and grateful to have lunch with you all today. You can see it on all the smiling faces today.

Our PTA Fundraiser has been extended until tomorrow, Monday, February 24, 2025. Please make sure that all fundraising packets are returned tomorrow. This week is our last week of Black History Month. Our students and staff have been working on trivia all month for prizes, as well as a focus in the classroom setting. We would like students to participate if they choose to do so this week by wear the colors to celebrate Black History Month:
Monday - wear red
Tuesday - wear yellow
Wednesday - wear black
Thursday - wear green
Friday - wear African attire (or any colors from above)
This week, we also have the following: Monday, Lunch with a Cop, and All County Chorus Rehearsal, Tuesday is Spring and Class Pictures, and Thursday is our Retro Remix Rehearsal. Our basketball and cheerleading games begin this Saturday, March 1st. All games take place at Nashville Elementary School. We play at 11:15 am against Nashville Elementary.

Congratulations to our OM Team on winning 2nd Place this weekend. They will go on to compete at the state level.


Due to inclement weather, all traditional Nash County Public Schools will be closed for students on Friday, February 21, 2025. Staff should follow telework procedures.
All Innovative Schools, CITI High School and Nash-Rocky Mount Early College High School, will operate on a remote learning schedule.
Additionally, all evening activities, including after-school care and athletics, have been canceled.

Parents - FINAL WEEK of the PTA fundraiser and we need your help!!
- Fundraiser deadline extended to Monday, February 24th. 1 week from today!
- Each class will be competing this week! The class that sells the most items this last week of the fundraiser will get a donut party and their teacher will get a $25 Amazon gift card!! **Have your child tell their teacher when they sell items!!**
- Classes must sell a minimum of 20 items as a whole to qualify for the donut party/teacher gift.
- Each student that sells 2 items this week will get a surprise Dude Perfect keychain!! **Have your child tell their teacher when they sell 2 items!!**

Wednesday we have Basketball Practice, and on Thursday, we have Basketball and Cheerleading Practice. On Friday, Progress Reports will go home. Lastly, our PTA fundraiser ends on Tuesday, February 18, which is this week..

There is an awesome event, for students, happening on February 13th from 4:30pm - 6:30 pm at Nash Community College's Brown Auditorium. It is the CTE Showcase. This event will allow you to participate in many hands-on career experiences. You will be able to talk to Nash County school staff, college staff, and professionals about careers that interest you. This will be a fun night of learning about careers. Also, there will be four large giveaways that you will be automatically entered in if you attend the CTE Showcase. The prizes are a gaming system (XBox or Playstation, 50" TV, a gift card bundle, and Beats Studio Headphones). You must be present to win. Also, food trucks will be on site for dinner purchases. Please make plans to attend the CTE Showcase on February 13th.

Monday and Tuesday are Teacher Workdays - There will be NO school for students. We have our last day of Retro Remix Talent Show Auditions on Wednesday of this week. On Wednesday of this week, it is our 100th Day of School. Students may dress as 100 year olds for this day. We have Basketball Practice on Wednesday and Thursday. Cheerleading Practice will be on Thursday. Please remember our PTA fundraiser that is going on at this time, which will end on February 18th.
We know that Valentine’s Day is Friday. Please note that we do not deliver balloons or other items to students while they are at school. If your student plans to exchange Valentines with their class, please make sure that you send these with your student before school begins.

Just a reminder that our Candy Apples arrived last week. Parents have to pick up these apples; we cannot send them home with students. Although we do not have school on Monday and Tuesday, parents may pick up candy apples between 8 am and 3:30 pm on Monday and Tuesday.

Last week was School Counselor's Week, and we honored our wonderful school counselor, Ms. Dawkins! Ms. Dawkins loves our students and staff, and she goes above and beyond for our school .Your students celebrated her throughout the week by making cards, as well as finding 100 pictures of her throughout the building. We appreciate Ms. Dawkins, and we love her dearly.
