Hello Cougar families!
I want to thank the PTO and First Baptist Church of Middlesex for an amazing event yesterday at Middlesex Elementary! It was great seeing so many families attend the event. Everyone had a great time! The vendors had some great deals and wonderful items. Thank you for supporting Middlesex Elementary school!
Reminder about our CandyMan fundraiser. The final day to turn in money is October 6th. We need all money turned in by 9am in order for students to be eligible for prizes. Here is the list of prizes:
10 items = students attend the Main Event
20 items = students have time in the awesome gaming truck
30 items = students participate in the pig race and can win a cash prize
Top seller gets to choose a very nice prize!
Parents, please make sure money and the forms are returned by October 6th at 9am.
We have been working to make our car line run smoothly in the mornings and the afternoons. During the morning drop off, if your child is able to open the car door and exit on their own, they may do so once you get to the sidewalk in front of the school. They do not have to wait to get to a person to open the door. Also, please remember at 7:55 the staff enters the building. If you bring your child to school and there is not a staff member at the front of the school, you need to walk your child into the school. We want the students to be safe and if there is not an adult present to supervise then the parents need to walk in the office to check the child in.
In the afternoons, please make sure you are making a double line while you wait for school to dismiss. Please pull all the way up to where the caller stands in the afternoons. The caller will alternate cars when calling students names. We are trying to get as many cars off the main street as possible and this will help.
We will have a curriculum night on October 10th starting at 5:30 in the gym. During this time, information will be shared concerning academic expectations, parent resources, and a presentation from our Dual Language classes to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. After the presentation, parents will go to his/her child's class for teachers to share some important information regarding how parents can best help their child at home. Please make plans to attend this curriculum event so we can all work together to help your child have a successful school year.
Thank you for all your support! Have a great day!

Nash County Public Schools CTE BUSINESS & INDUSTRY ROUNDUP
This event is designed to guide students through a progressive journey of exploration and growth.
• High School - Our program encourages students to engage their horizons by delving into available internships, and job opportunities, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed in the professional world.
• Middle School - As students progress to this stage, they explore various industries - gaining insights into what different businesses entail, how they operate, and the path to get into those positions, helping them envision their future paths.
• Elementary School - expose young minds to the world of business - offering hands-on experiences that ignite their curiosity about potential careers. Stepping stones for growth.

Below is a very important message from Nurse Sam.
As the school is in full swing, I wanted to send out a reminder of all medications. Per Nash County School policy:
We recognize that students may need to take medication during school hours. To minimize disruptions to the school day students should take medications at home rather than at school whenever feasible. Medication, including over-the-counter and emergency medications [ie. rescue inhaler or epi-pen] may only be administered at school upon receipt of a completed Medication Authorization form. In limited circumstances, a student may be allowed to self-administer medications. The authorization form must be completed by a licensed healthcare provider and the student's parent/guardian. Please refer to the District Medication Policy #6125 for more information or contact your school nurse. Medication forms are required annually.
Medication Authorization forms may be accessed on the schools website under the Parents tab.
Thank you,
