SNMS School Uniform Policy

DRESS CODE - STUDENTS

All students must comply with the school-based uniform policy (posted on the website) and specific guidelines listed below:

Dress Code

  • No hoods on the head, hats, or headwear. No pajamas or slippers, no blankets
  • No leggings, tights, or excessively tight or revealing clothing
  • No cargo pants/shorts or pants with more than 5 pockets
  • No see-through/mesh clothing/undergarments
  • No tube tops or tank tops; all tops  must have sleeves
  • No gang-related clothing, accessories, symbols, or intimidating manner of dress
  • Shorts/skirts must cover no more than 1 inch above the knee
  • Pants shall not be worn with the waistband below the hip bone
  • Pants shall not have any holes
  • Shirts/tops should be school-appropriate

 

The following specific regulations also apply to Southern Nash Middle students:

1. Hats, hoodies, caps, and sunglasses are not to be worn inside the building. Any kind of head cover is to be removed when the student enters the building. “Doo” Rags, full face masks, and bandanas are not permitted on campus.

2. No clothing is allowed to be worn inside-out or backward. Also, students may not roll up their pant legs. Students should not have “sagging” pants. Belts need to be buckled and worn at the waistline.

3. Undergarments are not to be visible. (Student’s pant legs are not to be tucked into

     their socks.)

 

Violations may result in a parent being asked to bring the proper attire to school, the student being sent to ISS, or repeated violations will result in a discipline referral.
